ABOUT ME

British-Nigerian Chef KING ENEKEME, brought up in London. His food is a combination of his West African heritage and modernity. He is truly passionate and intuitive about his food. His innate dedication and natural talent led him to train as a professional chef. His discipline not only applies to his style of cooking but to his life in general. With an inherent belief that everything should either be done with passion and conviction or not at all.

He has harnessed an ability to not only amplify the flavour of each ingredient he works with, but also uses these flavours to elevate each dish, a progressive and ever evolving skill that he has acquired from 20+ years in the hospitality sector throughout London and the United Kingdom.

Chef King Enekeme ran his own London based catering company for 12 years, after working as Head Chef at the popular north London restaurant 'The Barnsbury' in Islington 2010. Offering people a diverse culinary experience has been his life’s vocation. Chef King's journey has taken him from beginning as a sous chef in Hampstead to executive chef of his own private events at well-known venues across the world such as The Mandarin Oriental Marrakech and The Amanjena, both luxury resorts in Morocco. This experience enabled him to work alongside some of the most renowned Michelin starred chefs such as Cédric D'Ambrosio while continuing to evolve his career as a chef. Chef King Enekeme burgeons taking you on an amazing culinary journey!

His style of food is primarily gleaned from his British-Nigerian heritage. Growing up in the North West of London he was also influenced by West Indian food culture, which can also be seen in elements of his dishes. Chef King Enekeme has also expanded his knowledge of food by extensively travelling the world to cities with a culture of great cuisine. Food is always at the helm of any culture and it is his wish to see more foods of African culture brought to the world of high-end cuisine. It is his belief that African cuisine is underrepresented in this area. His food is audacious and is fortified with everything the ancestors have passed down.

There is a saying in Nigeria, "Àse", which simply means, "It is well", and this is the guiding principle for all his creative works.

"The best feeling in the world is seeing someone smile because of you"
